North or South ?

Where would you say is the best place to be over winter for waves, weather, work, stuff to do, places to hang out, people to party with? North or South Island? Or any town / region in particular? I've heard that Dunedin is pretty fun as its got heaps of students, so theres heaps of young people to party with. Is that right ? Let me know where you think !?!?!

I have been told colder then a witches tit but at this stage have no proof. Dunnos 1st years are also good value and love the tatse of ryphanol and Speights on tap.

And where would you recomend then? 6C is intense man! We get down to like 8 in Winter in England and its pretty full on. But definetly still surfable for a few hours with a decent suit! It looks like everyone is loving the South Isalnd!
