I thought since the iso shop has them and i now own a pair a wee review on them would not go astray.

My first impression before i got the fins in all honesty was they looked kinda gay.
I broadening my horizons tho and am start to like how the look.

Comfort - As the review in the shop says "they are as comfortable as any fin on the market". - They are definately not wrong. You can put the fins on either foot it does not matter.

Performance - One word can sum this up pretty well 'powerful' similar to the type of thrust you get from vipers. Going from churchils to these was a bit different to start off with, but it was not long before i got a feel for the kick. Long drawn out kicks and your motoring through the water.

Dk-s - I cant drop knee to save my life, had a couple of goes though. I reckon with the blade not being too big and the fins being really really light, with the combination of the great thrust, these fins would be ideal for dk. - These are the signature fins of dk legend aka lynman.

All in all im really stoked with my kicks 8 out of 10.

Do they have a wide foot pocket?

I use Pods simply because they are wide and the best fit for my Maori feet. I used to have Churchills, but they're far too narrow and gave me cramps within 20 minutes.

fuckin aye bro.. how else are you supposed to find the right gears?

Still haven't found the perfect fins yet, I've tried Tech 2's, PF2's, Vipers, Kicks, Limited Editions and Da'Fins... speaking of Da'Fins, anyone wanna buy or trade for a pair of fins i have not tried!?? size 9-10

haha, my feet are a bit different to most peoples, so im having a bit of trouble finding 'the perfect fin'

Sweet we review, got me thinking.

My kit is getting pretty old now but still good.

Wetsuit - 3/3 7th Wave Viper - 3 yrs old
PE 42" RH 4Play - 2 yrs old (waterlogged and discontinued)
PP 42" RH 4Play - 1.5yrs old (delaming and discontinued)
Viper yellows - 1.5yrs old (neopreme gone from foot hole and bottoms worn away from skipping over coral reef)

This kit has seen plenty of good times tough. 4 trips to the cats and 3 trips to Pacific Islands. I reccon that Dellas Singer sig model looks pretty good for a next step. Off to goldy in October so may need to hit Eppos...

If we can source the Stealth V2.0 fins we will get them in!

If you are after any particular fins just drop us a line at shop@isolated.co.nz and we will see what we can do!

I own a pair of DaFins.they rock! and though I take size 9.5 shoes I had to hassle Kmac for successively larger and larger DaFins until I ended up with XL's(size13-14!!!)They fit! I have cut them down for DK, rounded, they are now virtually identical to Kick's Fins......and like I said...they rock!

I would say Churchills are the most 'spot on' fit. Stealths run slightly bigger usually so just need to keep it in mind when buying. Da Fins do seem to run a little Small as do Kicks as they have a marginally narrower foot pocket than the Churchil/Stealth type fins. Any other questions just drop me a line at kevin@isolated.co.nz bro!

If you did buy through us we are usually pretty happy to replace the fins if the size is a bit off, they have to come back unused in the box of course and not have the signs of 10 surfs on them haha!

Mincepie, that was a great review mate. I wish we had more people doing that over here. general riders saying in a sensible way why they do/don't like stuff in a bit of detail.

We're getting a good range of selection of quality gear in boog now. What I'm wondering is if you guys can tune me in on what you find best for GI Joe's kind of feet - the big wide ones. Feet are so variable.

I get lots of questions about stuff, but have little feedback for blokes with really wide (Maori type in Joe's case) feet as to what their options are. My feet are pretty normal, so I'm no use. A fella with wide feet has just asked me and I only know the older brands, not newer gear to the region like the ally's/da fin/kicks.

What you wrote Kev was along the lines of what I'm after, where you compare them from brand to brand. Churchill are a good 'standard' I'd think as the base comparison as everyone knows them pretty much. From there wider/thinner/deeper/sized up/sized down/whatever that would be a big help as a general guideline.
thx,
Doc
